The Dance as Ritual workshop will offer dancers the chance to improvise and learn simple choreographies that will be woven into a liturgy of global music. We will focus on working in groups. After a 4 class session, dancers will have learned the choreography to a 25 minute ritual dictated by a musical montage. Short dances are defined by the shifts in the music, which sometimes are improvised and other times will involve simple choreography. Ceil will break down the choreography for everyone. At no time is anybody an audience member.
