Foundations of Yoga Series
This series offers basic tools so you can create & refine your personal practice to receive the many benefits yoga provides.
Each week we practice together in the context of sequential exploration of the 8 limbs of Yoga, allowing for inquiry and personal growth. In community we will connect through dialogue, movement, breathwork, and guided meditation.
Each class dives below the surface of the 8 limbs: Yama (ethics), Niyama (self-discipline), Asana (movement), Pranayama (breath), Pratyahara (sensory transcendence), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation), Samadhi (enlightenment).
Weekly sessions will focus on integrating your body and mind through foundational postures & guided meditation, providing a solid base for any asana practice and a deeper connection to yourself and others!
Class Begins: March 6th and meets for 6 consecutive Thursdays, ending on April 10th.
Class Time: 6:30-7:30 pm
Registration Cost: We offer a sliding scale options for this program. Please consider paying at the highest rate that you can afford: your generosity supports making mindfulness accessible to everyone. We also have an Access Fund to allow anyone experiencing financial hardship or on a limited budget to participate. If cost is an issue please reach out to livingwaterrva@gmail.com.
