Qi Gong is cancelled for today, Monday, December 4th, 2023! Jonah is out sick but will be back next Monday to teach. For movement we suggest J Miles’ yoga class upstairs at 6:30 pm tonight, or for breathwork we suggest Katie’s community breathwork tonight at 7:30 pm in the community room. Regardless, we wish you a lovely evening and Jonah hopes to see you for qi gong next week!
This class meets every Monday from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. and is open to anyone wishing to develop a Qigong practice. We'll explore this wonderful aspect of Chinese medicine as a path to increased vitality, health and longevity, as well as spiritual growth. Qigong is an ancient practice which combines graceful movements with abdominal breathing and mindfulness, allowing us to connect with Nature and balance the body's circadian rhythms. Benefits of Qigong include a strengthened immune system, greater balance and flexibility, and emotional balance; often after doing Qigong one will want to smile spontaneously! This class will focus on a set of Qigong called the Eight Brocades, one of the most widely practiced and beneficial forms of Qigong.
Jonah has been studying Chinese internal martial arts and Qigong with Shifu Glen Moore since 2011. He has a deep interest in Taoist philosophy and Chinese medicine and aspires to share these forms of healing with contemporary seekers of all backgrounds.
Like other mindfulness practices at Living Water, this one is offered on a sliding scale, $25-$5, because everyone deserves access to wellness and peace. Please pay as you can to support this and other beautiful community practices at this space!
